- Poly-cotton and poly-viscose blends — mid-weight, shape-holding, and the sensible single purchase if one piece has to work across both seasons.
- Heavier suiting — for winter, formal wear and wedding trousers, where the cloth has to hang properly rather than breathe.

Choosing for the season
